There's still plenty of time to sign up for the Doug Fitch/Hannah McAndrew international slipware roadshow workshop here in Falmouth next month. Doug and Hannah, two potters from the United Kingdom, should be starting to think about what kind of woolies they want to bring to Cape Cod, followed by shorts and flip-flops for their workshops in Virginia and North Carolina. We had an inch of snow last week, kids, so consider that fair warning about spring on Cape Cod.
The workshop will be in the pottery studio at the new Falmouth High School, a couple of miles from downtown Falmouth and a couple of miles from Hatchville Pottery. Stephanie York, the teacher there, is our host.
Members of the sponsoring Cape Cod Potters organization will pay $145 for the two-day workshop, non-members will pay $165. Lunch each day is included in your entry fee. One-day attendees can come for $75 and $90.
For more information on the workshop, and for a downloadable entry form, go to capecodpotters.org and follow the links to workshops. There is no closing deadline for coming to this workshop, so don't think you've missed your chance.

And PS: For those of you who follow these pottery blogs and might know her, we expect Angela Walford of Adelaide, Australia, to be visiting during the workshops. Angela is a friend of Doug and Hannah and is latching onto their tour to see a bit of the States and hang with friends. Also likely here during part of Sunday will be Fredericksburg, Va., potter and blogger Dan Finnegan. Dan will drive the visiting potters on to another workshop at his place the following weekend.

Enjoy the workshop! I can't wait til they get here to NC!
The year is flying so fast it is hard to believe they will be here soon- very soon!
The firing was just over 9 hours- not too bad.We were both happy with that and now that it is open real happy with the results.
You will have tell us how you do 5 hours.
I really hope to make it to Ron's when they are in NC.
I'm both excited and terrified! It's going to be great to meet everybody. I love it that teachers and students get to come free, that's such a good thing, they're two sectors of society that are getting hit hard over here
See you soon!!!!! :-)
Everyone here is looking forward to it. Meredith, glad you had such a good firing in that new little kiln. Nine hours is perfectly manageable, and I don't know if I'd recommend five hours. Next firing I'm going to try to stretch it out a bit and not raise temp so quickly. Doug, I don't think there's anything to be terrified about. It should be a lot of fun. And you're right about the teachers and students. It's always been a policy of the Cape Cod Potters that those two groups come free to workshops. It's a good thing.
I'm packing my ski jacket!!!!! and looking forward very much to some slip action from the Brits :))
Sure wish I could make it up to the workshop there! It's crazy busy for me in April/May, which is good, but it's taking away from my play time!
Hope you have a great turn out :)
Hope you get to see the visiting folks when they're in NC, Tracey.
I also think it's great that students and teachers get to go free and eat free is even better. I'm going to recommend that idea to the west country potters assoc.
