But other than a few traffic hazards and thoroughly undermined Surf Drive on the south shore, we got through OK. Even the coffee shop was open this morning at 6, as always.
I spent most of the day glazing pots for the woodfiring this weekend. Kim Medeiros was here using my Shinos, temmoku and a couple of other glazes. We're hoping this weekend's weather will be entirely anti-hurricane.

I think that you and I bracketed the storm, Hollis, We had steady rain up to 5" in 24 hours and 40-50mph winds, but nothing too exciting. You wouldn't want to fire that kiln in a windstorm! Have a great firing. That kiln likes shinos especially under the arch. Don''t be afraid to sprinkle some at the back.

Thanks, guys. And thank you, Dan, for the pot placement advice. As usual, I have way more pots than expected. But that's better than not enough. And you're right, we didn't want a big blow next weekend.
Glad to hear the storm was easy on you. I am visiting NH this week and luckily we also escaped the brunt of the storm, here on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Amazing at how local it was. We were out of power for over 26 hours... What are we? Eight houses away from you? Another neighbor lost a pile of shingles off of their roof. Glad you are ok and made it through unscathed.

Whew, glad to hear...the news reports make it difficult to discern who got hit and who didn't. Thankfully Schoharie was spared after last years mess. That said, so many people were hit hard in other areas...it will be a long recovery. Have a great firing~ good chilly weather for a wood fire :)
