So that was one of the main things I took from the workshop. Once back from NCECA a week ago, that was one of the things I wanted to get to. So I did.
With a longish and extremely encouraging IM consult with Ron, I got the store up. Go to Etsy.com and look for Hatchvillepottery in the shops. Tell me what you think. I still haven't got it all figured out (it's a whole new language), but there are a bunch of pots up there and they look pretty good. Take a look.

just remember to post little and often on Etsy, and join "circles" and "favourite" items and shops...it is all about connectionds! Also join groups

Yep, you need a link to your Etsy shop on your blog! When I was doing it, I found that listing multiple times a day definitely helped sales. When I put stuff in my shop, it sells, I'm just so lazy with it, and I got sick of the circles and all the social media aspect of it. I keep thinking I need to crank it back up, it's just so time consuming! But, go for it, I know folks will be buying work from you in your new shop!!! You just have to put in the time :)

wow- great pieces! I've found etsy to be time consuming and the whole social media thing too can be a pain. Hope it works well for you!

Congrats! Etsy can be as intense as you want to make it. I find the sales, though occasional, to be a delightful surprise with relatively little work! Also, it grows as you get found. Customers will be glad to know they can find you online.

Hi Hollis! Looks great! Echoing Tracey's suggestion to link to your blog. Super easy to acquire an etsy "widget" from your blogger dashboard--then a selection from your etsy shop is right there on your blog page. Yay!

Ron also helped alot getting going on Etsy. I talked about it for about 2 years then after a talk with Ron, I went for it. I started last June with only 12 items and no work and had 4 sales in 2011. Then in February I added 50+ items and started doing the treasuries, circles, and teams and I have had 8 sales in 2 months. So more work means more sales and in slow months it is fine but won't be able to keep it up when I get busy again.
